OverTake is about celebrating the esports racing community. We welcome everyone who shares our passion for speed and challenge on the virtual playground. That said, we understand our diverse and including community as our strongest asset. As such, we want to foster a fun and safe environment for everyone. While we do believe in a rather hands-off approach, we do want to make clear that certain behaviour is not acceptable and within our community culture.
We’ve outlined such behaviour below:
Our Values
Racial or Ethnic Hatred: We do not tolerate any posts containing language that promote racial or ethnic hatred, use a recognized racial/ethnic slur or allude to a symbol of racial or ethnic hatred.
Harassment and Vulgar language: We do not tolerate posts that insult another person, or which would result in the harassment of a person by others. Harassment comes in many forms and is not limited to specific words or behaviours. Repeatedly targeting a specific person can lead to more severe action being taken. As well, vulgar or abusive language, masked with symbols, characters or otherwise, will not be tolerated.
Sexual Orientation: We do not tolerate posts which insultingly refer to any aspect of sexual orientation.
Gender Identity: We do not tolerate posts which insultingly refer to any aspect of gender or gender identity.
Distribution of Real-Life Personal Information: We do not tolerate posts which release any personally identifiable information about another person or OverTake staff without their expressed consent.
Hostility: We encourage you to be friendly toward others and try to keep conversations on-topic. Be polite and professional. Do not be hostile or discourage people from participating in the community. There are human beings on the other side of a conversation, and everyone deserves to be treated with respect.
Advertising: We do not tolerate posts for the purpose of advertising any commercial or non-beneficial website, business or organization. It is at our moderator’s discretion to deem any posts or links as Advertising.
In General: We do not tolerate posts and actions that seem specifically designed to test the limits of what is not offensive and which do not serve another purpose.
If a participant is in violation of our Code of Conduct, an OverTake employee may warn the participant for such violation. We reserve the right to immediately set a time out for an account in case the participant insists on demonstrating inappropriate conduct as outlined, including but not limited to, any violation to the Code of Conduct above. Should violations be deemed excessive, one of our moderators will ban the participant, preventing any further participation.
OverTake reserves the right to change or amend the code of conduct at any time and without notice. We encourage you to review these guidelines from time to time to ensure your adherence.
