F1 Mobile crowns first Esports champion

After the inaugural season of the F1 Mobile Racing Esports tournament a champion has been crowned.

This week saw the final stage of the very first F1 Mobile Racing Esports tournament. Over 60,000 racers have qualified for the esports leagues since September and battled each other relentlessly to secure a spot in the Grand Final.

In the end, the Italian Matteo Pagliani has emerged as the best of them all. Matteo, known by his handle 'PAGLIA', was on a tear through the nearly five months of competition.



In the end, Matteo trumped 53 player vs player duels in the Grand Final to secure his title. PAGLIA, therefore, beat a total of 3,500 players who competed in the Grand final. He will receive a trophy and a still-unannounced special prize; additionally, he will automatically qualify for the following F1 Mobile Racing Esports tournament.



The F1 Mobile Racing Esports tournament has seen players from more than 170 countries that played more than 105 million minutes in over 10 million duels in total.

The first season of its kind F1 Mobile has set a new standard for mobile gaming esports. Many other developers will surely be on the lookout for more, especially with the numbers of players the event has pulled.

After Matteo's win, he joins Jarno Opmeer in the line of champions. Opmeer has recently captured the trophy in the F1 Esports Pro Series 2020
