Another absolutely phenomenal season of esports racing is coming to an end on Saturday: 2020 Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup takes the field to the legendary Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Italy.

All eyes are going to be on Sebastian Job from Red Bull Racing Esports Team. The Briton has won four out of ten main races and placed second twice. With 590 points under his belt, Job has a comfortable 71-point lead over reigning champion Joshua K Rogers. Thanks to a magnificent season, Job cannot be stopped from becoming champion. Or can he?

Only one rival left

Last year, Rogers engaged in an exciting battle for the title with “Mr. 11,000” Maximilian Benecke, the highest rated iRacing player in the world. Back then, Rogers was able to get decent finishes in Round 10, defending his point lead from Benecke who won the last race.

This time around, this task falls to Job, who placed third in 2019. However, there is a huge difference between Rogers in last season and Job right now: thanks to his massive point advantage, the Red Bull racer just needs to do one thing and that is not mess it up.

In the last round, players can theoretically earn up to 85 points if they place first in qualifying, the sprint and main race. If Rogers were indeed to have the time of his life, winning all of these, Job needs a mere 15 points overall to deny the Australian his second Supercup championship. The odds are heavily in favor of Job. Since Round 2 in Barcelona, he hasn’t dropped below the top 5 in any race, both sprints and mains.

To overcome his would-be successor, Rogers will have to produce his best performance this season so far. At the same time, he depends on Job having his worst in five months, if he wants to take home a quarter of the $200,000 prize pool.
