The first season of the Assetto CorsaV10 R-League came to an end this Monday, October 19. Porsche Redline was able to claim the victory after an exciting battle against runner-up Williams Esports.
Four drivers were part of the winning line-up: Atze Kerkhof, Ben Cornett, Michal Smidl, and Jeffrey Rietveld. The champions were able to finish the event with a score of 17 points – three points ahead of Williams.

Consistently fast
Eight teams that all consisted of three or four racers competed against each other from September 7 – October 19. A prize pool of £100,000 was at stake, and winning squad Porsche earned a £30,000 portion of the whole cake.
The tournament consisted of three rounds, each offering a different challenge. After a 1v1 Head-to-Head race in round one and a Relay race in the second round, the Sprint Race was the final challenge to gain points. As Porsche was already leading the tournament, Williams would have needed three victories in the last round. However, Porsche’s squad managed to push their opponents out of range for victory: a pincer overtake resulted in Williams driver Nikodem Wisniewski accidentally spinning into his own team-mate.
Porsche was able to secure the victory in a dominant way, as the four drivers scored six match victories in total. Michal Smidl turned out to be the star driver of the squad. The 25-year-old Czech esports racer was fond of the first season, as he told tournament organizer Gfinity:
I really liked the whole championship. The short races were very intense and showed who can cope with the pressure. The V10 R-League format is interesting and truly unconventional in the world of sim racing. I’m glad I could be a part of the first season and I can’t wait for the upcoming season. The winning feeling after we secured the championship was absolutely phenomenal.
