Graham Carroll and Sebastian Job are the winners of Round One in the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup 2020.
Reading time: 2 minutes
It was a dream start for Team Red Bull Racing in Round One of the 2020 Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup. The event at Circuit Park Zandvoort started with a 15-minute sprint race.
Last year’s winner Joshua K Rogers (VRS Coanda Simsport) was able to drive the fastest qualifying time. This brought him his first ten points, since the top five drivers of each qualifying are rewarded with 10/8/6/4/2 points.
But with the top eight drivers being reversed on the grid, the two Red Bulls of Patrik Holzmann and Graham Carroll formed the front row for the sprint race.
After an action-packed start, Carroll came out on top of the field. He was chased by Tommy Ostgaard (VRS Coanda Simsport), but the Brit couldn’t be caught and won the sprint race. Ostgaard finished second and Brian Lockwood (RaceKraft Esports) completed the podium. Joshua K Rogers came out on fourth place.
Sebastian Job wins main race
At the beginning of the main race, it was again Carroll and Ostgaard fighting for the lead. This time, Ostgaard came out on top and started to establish a small lead. While Carroll couldn’t catch up to the leader, his teammate Sebastian Job made his way through the field up into second place.
Halfway through the race, Job had reached Ostgaard and after an intense fight, the Red Bull became the race leader. Ostgaard wasn’t able to come back after this overtake and even lost some positions afterwards.

In the end, Job crossed the finish line with a 2.2 second lead to his teammate Graham Carroll. Reigning champion Joshua K Rogers completed the podium and finished third.
Among the 40 drivers fighting for a prize pool of $200,000 was F1 driver and Dutch local hero Max Verstappen (Team Redline). While he had to start from 21st position, he made his way through the midfield. After an intense fight with four-time iRacing world champion Martin Krönke, the youngster finished eleventh.

The Supercup will continue next Saturday with two races at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
