Lamborghini Real Race 2023 Kicks Off this Summer

Assetto Corsa Competizione

One of the biggest single-make esport series is returning this summer in the form of the Lamborghini Real Race. From format to dates and how to enter, here’s everything you need to know.

Assetto Corsa Competizione is increasingly the go-to platform for esport series and that is showing no sign of slowing down. The Lamborghini Real Race series is set to kick off for its fourth edition this week as the virtual Super Trofeo cars head to Paul Ricard for Round 1.

Unlike a standard championship, the Real Race will feature a number of unique aspects to its format. As a result, it will be crucial for the drivers to ensure that they are on the ball they get in the car. The new format also gives players the chance to compete even if they missed out on the first round of qualifiers. Here’s all you need to know about this summer’s events.

Lamborghini The Real Race Format

In 2023, racers can join the Lamborghini Real Race at any time throughout the four-race season. That is, provided they have what it takes to qualify. Four individual qualifying hot stint events will see the top 24 drivers move forward to the following race. Each qualifying competition will take place on the same track as its race, and one must only compete in one of the four races to become eligible for a Grand Final.

The top-four finishers of each race will gain entry to an on-site Grand Final at the Nürburgring at the end of July.

There are many ways of joining the Lamborghini Real Race series this year. More so than last year. In 2023, a trio of on-site events will allow fans to set a hot stint time in the aim of winning a wildcard entry to the Grand Final.

16 drivers will make their way to the Grand Final through their race results. Three drivers will gain wildcard entry thanks to their laptimes in on-site hot lap competitions at select GT World Challenge events. These consist of Circuit Paul Ricard on 3 June, Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps on 2 July and Nürburgring on 29 July.

Three remaining slots in the final will be given to winners of a hotlapping competition organised by Lamborghini dealers in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Simulators will travel local universities and schools in a bid to find hidden talent.

Action-Packed June

For Europeans, the Lamborghini Real Race will make for a very busy month of June. Four hot stint events and races on four different tracks are set to put racers through their paces.

The calendar kicks off with a hot stint competition at Paul Ricard from 5 to 12 June. The top drivers of this competition will move forward to this week’s race taking place on the same track. This week’s race gets going tomorrow, 15 June.

With the Paul Ricard qualifier competition already complete, fans can now try their luck at entering the next race. A hot stint competition will run at Monza from 12 to 19 June. A race at the Temple of Speed will follow on 22 June.

A third race at Barcelona sees drivers take part in the week-long qualifier from 19 to 26 June. The best of the best in this event will go wheel-to-wheel at the Circuit de Catalunya on 29 June.

Finally, the European season ends at Spa-Francorchamps. Qualifiers will take place from 26 June to 3 July whilst the race will happen on 6 July.

After the main season, a Grand Final will see the best of the best travel to the Nürburgring round of GT World Challenge. Here, they will race for a “prize money can’t buy” on 29 July.

Lamborghini Real Race 2023 Prize

By getting through to the Grand Final at the Nürburgring at the end of July, racers can already be proud of themselves. However, one driver will sit on the top step after a hard-fought live race. By taking the win at the Grand Final, one racer will earn the chance to join the Automobili Lamborghini Esports Team.
