After a first season ran from February to June and an off-season event in July on the unreleased Rennsport platform, ESL R1’s second season runs from August to November.
The main part of the season consists of eight online rounds. Each event is structured with seven individual races: four quarter finals, two semi finals and a final, of which there are always twelve drivers and the best six progress to the next stage. The online rounds have the quarter finals run on Thursday and then the semi finals and final are on Friday.
After the eighth round, the top competitors qualify for the Fall Season Major held onsite at DreamHack Winter in Jönköping, Sweden. The competitors have to build up their points haul to a certain amount and when they meet that number, all they have to do is win a race and they become season champion.
