Back in March, the Screen to Speed final hosted by Init Esports was held in Las Vegas alongside the NASCAR event. Women sim racers competed for a test drive in a Porsche racecar. From July to October, they’re hosting an online championship called the Summer Cup.
Unlike in the initial Screen to Speed competition, all rounds will have different cars for every event. There will be road course, rallycross and oval racing, therefore testing drivers across many motorsport disciplines.
Time attack qualifiers run in the two weeks before. Everyone who is eligible and qualifies will get a chance to race, with drivers being placed in their own splits.
All rounds can be followed on the Init Esports Twitch channel, streams begin at 9pm CEST. The schedule for the season is as follows:
Rd 1: Laguna Seca – 15 July (Global Mazda MX-5)
Rd 2: Wild West Motorsport Park Rallycross – 29 July (Lucas Oil Pro Lite 2)
Rd 3: USA International Speedway Oval – 12 August (Street Stock Car)
Rd 4: Okayama International Circuit – 26 August (FF1600)
Rd 5: Phoenix Rallycross – 23 September (Ford ’34 Coupe)
Rd 6: Virginia International Raceway – 7 October (Radical SR8)
If you are a woman and want a chance to be involved, go to the official Screen to Speed website to register.
