In a move which was announced during the Gamescom livestream in August 2021, Assetto Corsa Competizione has now arrived on the next generation of gaming consoles.
Players who already own the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One versions of ACC can upgrade the game for free. Other players that don’t already own the previous generation console version of the game can buy it for £34.99/$39.99/€39.99, which is the same price as the PS4/XB1 version.
With the Gen 9 launch of ACC only a week away, we’ve put together an FAQ to answer all of your questions. Here is everything you need to know! #beACC #505Games https://t.co/fxUBy0LUFT pic.twitter.com/DpEN7eykzs

What’s different?
The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions will run in 60 frames per second (up from the 30fps of the previous generation consoles), and will also support 4K resolution. The game will also allow for 30 player private lobbies from launch, whereas the previous version never had any private lobbies at all.
This also means, as stated in a FAQ by 505 Games, that PS5 players won’t be able to join the same online races as players on the PS4. The same is also true for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S players. With that being said, 505 Games confirmed on their forum that this is only the case for the launch period, and that crossplay between different generations of console is something they’re looking into for the future.
Making split second decisions and pulling off the ultimate overtake has never been so simple, with 60fps on console your races will be buttery smooth! Coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on the 22nd of February! #beACC #505Games pic.twitter.com/8jSjIvXj0r

Along with faster loading times and the smoother gameplay experience, there will also be some new content added with the upgrade. The drivers, teams and liveries from the 2021 GT World Challenge Europe seasons are being added as well as the new BMW M4 GT3 car which came to the PC version of the game earlier this year.
