Kunos has confirmed an update for Assetto Corsa Competizione set to arrive for PC players on 23 March, but what will be coming with this update?

In a tweet released on the official Assetto Corsa Twitter account on 9 March, it was stated that “new challengers are joining us”. Coupled with this was a video of a bunch of different silhouettes of cars and the sound of car engines.
There has been talk for a while that a lot of spec series cars are coming to ACC. This confirmation seems to suggest that that is exactly what we could be getting.

Some perceptive Twitter users were able to make out what the cars could be. The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 992 model, the BMW M2 CS Racing, the Audi R8 GT3 EVO 2, the Ferrari 488 Challenge and the previously confirmed Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2.
On 11 March, the Assetto Corsa Twitter account then tweeted out a video confirming that the BMW M2 CS Racing will indeed be coming to Assetto Corsa Competizione. So maybe that does point to all the other cars that have been mentioned joining it.
The M2 CS is used as a means to help drivers get a leg up into GT racing, as it’s not as fast as a GT3 or even a GT4 car. It produces just short of 450 horsepower from its 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-6 engine and has a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. It can be seen racing in spec championships in Germany, Italy and the Benelux region, and also in the Nürburgring Endurance Series and TC America.

The Ferrari 488 Challenge car potentially releasing with the pack will coincide with the Ferrari Esports Series’ expansion onto Assetto Corsa Competizione, as the 2022 edition of the search for the next driver will utilise both the original Assetto Corsa and its GT-focused counterpart.
Previous versions of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo and Porsche GT3 Cup cars are already in the game, as is the original Audi R8 GT3. There are many that had hoped that the cars from the GT2 European Series would be included such as the KTM X-Bow GT2, Brabham BT63 GT2 among others. There’s still no official confirmation on whether the Circuit of the Americas (which was teased in a video by Kunos) will be releasing with this update.
UPDATE 14/03/2022: The second Challengers pack car was confirmed, the Audi R8 LMS EVO 2.
