Three new circuits, 70 drivers and the original British GP flair – should you buy the new DLC?

Kunos Simulazioni stirred the sim racing community when they announced the newest British GP Pack coming for Assetto Corsa Competizione. The official announcement on Twitter came on February 4, with the actual publishing of the DLC following only six days later. The pack is now available on PC for roughly 13 euros – console players, on the other hand, still have to wait until late spring to get their offer. But no matter the platform: If you’re still debating whether to spend your money on the new content, you’ve come to the right place. We took a closer look at the British GP Pack to tell you if it’s worth being added to your game.
Laser scanning for original GP flair
The hard numbers of the latest British GP DLC sound rather impressive: With 40 new liveries, 70 drivers from the 2019 season, a dedicated Championship season and three original tracks from the tournament, the additional content will keep players busy for quite a while. The new circuits in particular make up the core of the pack. Donington Park, Oulton Park and Snetterton Circuit have all been implemented with ACC‘s characteristic laser scan technology. This succeeds at making the tracks as authentic as possible in the simulation, letting drivers feel every bump in the rough tarmac of the 1950’s racing tracks. And this is only one aspect of Kunos Simulazioni’s love for detail in their newest DLC.
For players who are still unsure if the new pack is for them, there is a handy compromise coming in the shape of the ACC update v1.7! Drivers owning the Assetto Corsa Competizione base game will obtain the new Championship season and can test it as sort of a demo version of the recent GT4 DLC. Albeit not providing other downloadable tracks, drivers or liveries, the Championship mode still features multiclass racing against the AI in either a GT3 or GT4 car. If you were still considering getting the GT4 DLC over the British GP one, you might want to use this update as a free trial to help you make up your mind.
