Game developer Studio397 is releasing the infamous Diriyah E-Prix Circuit for rFactor 2. As home of the very first Formula E race in the Middle East, the Saudi Arabian circuit comes as a massive addition to the game’s Formula E content. The virtual iteration is now available on Steam for roughly $8, while the entire Formula E Bundle including the new track comes in at about $30.

A Formula E milestone

The tight Saudi Arabian venue is one of the most renowned courses for the Formula E. Having hosted the first of the series’ races in the 2018/19 season, Diriyah has quickly become the main stage for the electric single-seaters. Now holding a 10-year contract to host the series, the Diriyah E-Prix will be part of the championship’s calendar for a long time to come. This also means that future iterations of esports tournaments such as the ABB Formula E #RaceAtHome Challenge 2020 or Formula E: Accelerate 2021 have now received a new venue with the Diriyah Circuit.

The laser-scanned version of Diriyah E-Prix offers a precise virtual replica of the tricky course. At roughly 2.5km long, the street circuit challenges racers with its variation between wide angle curves and blind apex turns. Two long straights might seem like the only easy-to-take passages, but they won’t allow drivers to let their guard down.
