Olli Pahkala is a famous name in the world of esports racing. What you may not know about Olli, is that on top of being a top tier driver who competed in such illustrious events as the F1 Esports series and managing Team Redline, the Finn has also started up his own sim-rig company! We spoke to Olli a few weeks ago about OverPower, his new sim rig manufacturing operation. Now, it’s time for Gareth Bateson to give the OverPower Formula a proper test and review!
OverPower Overview
First of all, Gareth discusses the assembly process and the materials used in making the rig. Most of the OverPower Formula is made of coated wood, but there are a few bits and pieces that are made of aluminium. The construction process isn’t simple, so you’ll want to make sure you know what you’re doing before you start building your rig. Building the OverPower Formula took quite a bit more time than expected, so make sure you’ve got plenty to work on the project!
Once the seat was built, Gareth was able to hop in and to get an idea of the way it felt to sit in. There are a few issues in terms of the comfort of the rig, such as the foam being rather on the firm side, but adjustable aspects of the rig make up for this somewhat. But how does it feel to driv in this rig, and is it worth purchasing the OverPower Formula for the hefty price tag of €900? You’ll have to watch the video to find out!
