In this special edition of Nitro Nights, we take you around the ADAC SimRacing Expo, which took place from 17-19 September. The Expo features a wide array of hardware, esports competitions, and interesting people to talk to about esports racing. We spoke to both content creator Christ Haye and Kunos Simulazioni developer Aristotelis ‘Aris’ Vasilako in this week’s episode.

A True SimRacing Experience

First of all, we take you for a look around at what the Expo has to offer, including some very cool pieces of kit such as the D-BOX Motionzone, which attempts to give you a complete esports racing experience. Then, we head to the legendary Nürburgring, next to which the Expo is held, to witness some real world racing action!

Speaking of which, we also got to get out on the Nordschleife ourselves in a Porsche GT3 RS, along with Chris Haye. Before we got down to business, we asked Chris a few questions about how he was finding the Expo, as well as on how he saw the esports racing world expanding and improving over the coming years.

Next up it was back to the Expo itself, to take a look at all of the shiny new hardware on offer. Motions platforms, wheels, pedals and more were all on display for people to try, and that’s exactly what we did. Particularly impressive were the Fanatec CSL DD wheelbase and the Heusinkveld Ultimate+ pedals.

Finally, we rounded things out by speaking with Aris from Kunos Simulazioni. We talked to him about the differences between working on Assetto Corsa and on its GT racing sequel, Assetto Corsa Competizione. We also asked Aris about his experience with the Assetto Corsa community, and the feedback that players give to the developers. To see all this and more, go take a look at our latest edition of Nitro Nights!
