A Blast from the Past
Preliminary reviews for the new Hot Wheels game are generally positive, though to varying degrees. In our own review which we put up on the OverTake YouTube channel, we noted that the core gameplay and variety of cars and tracks in the game were two strong points, but that the game was found a little lacking when it game to its singleplayer story mode and its multiplayer capabilities.

Even though the game is only just releasing, there are already concrete plans for future content additions in the form of DLC packs. These will certainly include new cars, tracks and locations within which custom tracks can be built. For players who want to get the upcoming expansion packs as well as more minor DLC additions such as individual cars, there are various versions of a Hot Wheels Pass on sale.
In terms of pricing, the base game is now on sale for £39.99/€49.99/$49.99. For PC it can be purchased in both the Steam and Epic Games stores. It is also available for the PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, and also the Nintendo Switch. If you’re looking for a new arcade racer with a retro angle and a heavy dose of nostalgia, then Hot Wheels Unleashed might just be the game for you.
