The ADAC SimRacing Expo will be held digitally due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. This was announced by the organizers on Monday, June 22. The date of the event was also changed. It will take place December 11-20, 2020. The ADAC SimRacing Expo is one of the biggest annual esports racing fairs which was originally set to be held at Nürburgring in September 2020.
“Due to the current circumstances, it is unfortunately not possible for us to hold our rapidly growing event on site at the Nürburgring this year. Nevertheless, we don’t want to leave our supporters outside in the cold and have therefore considered a comprehensive concept for an entirely digital version.”
– Marc Hennerici, Managing Director of ADAC Travel & Event Mittelrhein GmbH
The ADAC SimRacing Expo welcomes thousands of visitors every year. Esports racing fans from around the globe travel to Nürburgring to see the grand exhibition where hardware suppliers present their newest products. The digital event will bring the fair to people’s homes. Racing driver and motorsports journalist Kevin Rohrscheidt will present hardware from leading manufacturers in a TV studio. According to ADAC’s announcement the broadcast will include “tutorials, interviews, test reports and product news.”
The ADAC SimRacing Expo will not take place as planned at the beginning of September at the Nürburgring.

Two major esports racing competitions have been another big part of the event throughout the years. The SimRacing Trophy and the ADAC Digital GT500 will race online to determine their winners in December. ADAC also announced community spin-offs of the competitions, bridging the time until December. More details on the regulations and participation are going to be released later.
The organizers look forward to the event in winter. They hope the ADAC SimRacing Expo will return as an offline event in 2021.
“I think that with our wide range of virtual motorsport activities in December, we will be able to attract our large fan base and celebrate a fitting end to the year. Next year, we are looking forward to welcome numerous visitors to the Nürburgring again.”
– Michael Wamser, Managing Director of cowana GmbH and co-organizer of the ADAC SimRacing Expo
