If there’s one thing sim racers collectively love, it has to be sales and special deals. Well, we are in luck as while the Steam Summer Sale is now coming to an end, Amazon Prime Day is here and full of great deals.
From wheels to games, there is something for everyone. One can either get their hands on a title they’ve been hoping to get for a while, or try something new they would never pay full price for. With much to look through, here are some of the best racing game deals in the Amazon Prime Day sale.
Amazon Prime Day Racing Wheels
In the entry-level market, there are really only two options for racing wheels; Logitech and Thrustmaster. These two manufacturers feature great wheels for beginners that are sure to last the test of time. Now is the perfect opportunity to get your hands on one.
From Logitech, the G29 is available in all of its versions at a reduced price this week. Fans will be in awe at the 51% discount meaning the wheel costs just £170 in either Xbox or PS variant.
Great variety is available from Thrustmaster in the Amazon deals. Sitting closest to the G29 is the T248, a cog-driven wheel perfect for younger audiences. As standard, one can pick this wheel and pedal set up for around £300. But thanks to the Prime Day sale, this racing wheel costs less than £200 on Amazon. If you’re looking for more oomph, the higher end Thrustmaster T-GT is 20% off. One can purchase this impressive bit of kit for £567 this week.
Games for Sale
There’s no reason in having a racing wheel if you have no games to play. The Amazon Prime Day deals feature many titles to get your teeth stuck into. Currently, the most recent Forza Horizon games are available at a reduced price. FH4 gets the biggest discount at 40% off whilst a 13% reduction for FH5 is just enough for it to feel special.
Elsewhere, Kunos Simulazioni’s creations are both on sale. The ever-popular Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition with all DLC comes down by 25% to £20. As for the GT-focused Competizione title, the PS5 version sits at 27% off.
The long-term rival to the Forza series is Playstation’s Gran Turismo and the most recent title, GT7, features in the Amazon Prime Day deals. This Sony-exclusive racing game is available for £42 – or 37% off.
Sim Racing Kit
When it comes to sim racing, there are many bits of kit that improve the experience. A full-on rig and VR are certainly two things that make a gamer feel like a true racing driver. The Amazon Prime Day sale features two products that are sure to help.
The Meta Quest 2 is a standalone VR headset that can run PC games through linking. During this current sale, it is 25% off, meaning it costs £300 rather than £400. For anyone interested in trying VR for sim racing, this might be the perfect time.
Whilst using VR, it can be more immersive to sit in a real bucket seat. The Playseat Evolution is a full rig with the seat, wheel stand and pedal base. Those that buy it before the end of the sale, 12 June, will benefit from 30% off and a price of just over £200.
