Assetto Corsa | Experience the 2022 Formula One Season

Preview F1 2022 Using Assetto Corsa 01.jpg
Assetto Corsa can be used to preview the 2022 F1 racing action, and here are the links you'll need to make it happen.

Thanks to the work of talented mod creators, including many who share their work here at RaceDepartment, you can experience racing action from the 2022 F1 season before the real cars take to the track.

To make this happen, you'll need to have Assetto Corsa on PC installed, plus own the Race Sim Studio Formula Hybrid X 2022 car mod. From there, simply install any or all of the skins below to simulate what we'll be seeing on track starting next month.

20% Discount on the RSS Formula Hybrid X

RaceDepartment Premium Members can pick this car up with a 20% discount via the special coupon code available exclusive to our supporters via this link.

There are, of course, caveats to this experience. Most notably, although the car liveries are varied, the underlying cars themselves are the same between teams, so performance and smaller car details won't perfectly match what we see on track. Also, some of the tracks that will appear on this year's F1 calendar are difficult to come by for Assetto Corsa, so it may be best to view this as a hotlap or single race solution rather than an opportunity to run a full season.

But, shortcomings notwithstanding, the car is a blast to drive and the liveries our members have shared are outstanding. This is a great opportunity to simulate something auto racing fans around the world are awaiting.

There are lots more skins for the Hybrid X including some excellent fantasy skins, plus future releases for the Alpine and Alfa Romeo and updates to skins already released, so be sure to keep an eye on the RaceDepartment Assetto Corsa skins download page.

Could depend on what car livery content is installed,
From experience there is a lot of variation from skin creators to the end MB of the total package which could effect this is some situations, also CSP or other content installed combined like I say with the liveries can effect the overhaul experience expected.

For me that happens when the AI gets stuck. Usually when there's a crash and the cars get stuck in a pile the CPU occupancy will skyrocket. Presumably either the physics go mad or the AI cannot find a path out of the situation.

Could also be the liveries or something else, I have yet to download these flashy new liveries for the 2022 cars. I've never had issues with those while using the 2021 cars though.

You probably don't know better (yet), and the pc selling companies that won't list real specifications aren't helpful at all, but you basically said:
"my car is too slow on the local race track. It's a Volkswagen on summer wheels, normal fuel".

I'm still trying to figure out what a "15.6" is...

I don't need to see your specs to know your Hardware is limited. CPU is struggling...
Solution: Turn down AI opponent numbers. You can't field 20 it seems, Try 10 opponents for a few laps.... Gradually turning it up to find your limit.

I've been trying to mess around with with tweaking the AI "ballast" and "restrictor" values in a custom made CHAMP text file, to try and recreate the spread of performance across the grid. But i've no idea what scale the values are! For example is restrictor = 0.1 meaning 0.1%, or 10%, or something else? Need more trial and error!

Regardless, the RSS car and the community skins are superb, bravo to all involved! The new 18" rims looks really good in VR from the cockpit. Awesome stuff

I purchased both this car pack and the proper f1 2022 car models available from simdream and I was wondering which one has the best physic simulation?
