Preview screenshots of the Classic Nurburgring for Automobilista 2 recently surfaced on Twitter. The tweets hinted at a release this weekend.

Happy ACC 1.9 release day everyone. But wait, it’s Reiza Studios and Automobilista 2 who seem to be stealing the spotlight. A recent tweet from the Brazilian developer showed off a selection of stunning screenshots from its upcoming classic Nurburgring project.
Showing the raw and dangerous persona of the Green Hell of yesteryear, the tweet also came with a caption hinting at a release this weekend.
Classic Nurburgring in Automobilista 2
For a long time now, fans of Automobilista 2 have been excited for the release of an older version of the infamous Nurburgring Nordschleife. Upon reveal of the original Nurburgring DLC pack for the game back in 2020, it was announced that a classic variant would join the sim.
Fast forward over two years, and Reiza finally revealed some details regarding the classic version. The team also explained why it had taken so long. Along with the recognisable Nordschleife that sim racing fans know so well, the Brazilian team is attempting to include the Sudschleife too. When it releases, this will be the first official sim racing representation of the often forgotten layout.
Using LiDAR to map the now derelict circuit and vintage photos to provide period-appropriate environmental details, it is certainly a mammoth task.
The team is hoping to recreate the track as it was in 1971. This would set it alongside other vintage European tracks from the early-1970’s in AMS2. These include 1972 Spa-Francorchamps, 1971 Monza and 1972 Imola. Tracks from this vintage match perfectly with countless classic touring and GT cars available in AMS2. But the pièce de résistance for racers looking to enjoy the classic Nurburgring in Automobilista 2 will be the Formula Retro cars.
