Codemasters have just rolled out a major new update for its rally title DIRT 5 which is sure to reinvigorate fans of the series’ interest in the game. Update 4.00 comes as a free patch and includes a great deal of features. On top of this is the new Uproar Content Pack, a paid DLC which is dropping alongside the free update and bringing a raft of new content with it.

Included in the Uproar pack are four new cars for players to drive wherever the road, or lack thereof, takes them. One of the new cars, the Duke Coupe, is a Rally GT Class car reminiscent of the hot-rod style of vehicle. Alongside this arrival come the Zenden Cup, a tightly packed Rally Cross specialist, the Jackson Adventurer, an Unlimited Class car which can handle jumps with ease, and also the rather unusual Jackson Eulogy, so named for the fact that it highly resembles a funeral hearse.

Each of the new vehicles will come into play in a new line of 25 career events featuring tricky weather conditions and night racing all over the globe. In addition, the Uproar Content Pack also includes a couple of new sponsors and some new achievements or trophies depending on the platform. The pack will be automatically available for players who purchased the Amplified Edition or Year One Upgrade of Dirt 5.

Free Content

If you don’t want to pay for the Uproar pack’s content, no problem – the free 4.00 update also brings new features to the table. The arena-customisation Playgrounds mode has received an update, with upwards of 20 new items for players to enjoy. More classic liveries also arrive with this patch. Legendary paint jobs such as that of the Subaru WRX STI RX Supercar and the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI and more have been added by popular demand.

One new feature that fans of the game will be excited about is private lobbies, which allow players to invite their friends to races directly via invite. Curation of player-made content is also coming, with the Verified Creators tag which will be given to the most talented Playgrounds creators. This tag will show up as a small tick next to the name of the user. The chosen users will be hand-picked by the DIRT 5 team.
