Standing still is moving backwards, and of course OverTake wants to push forward. To do so, we are implementing a few changes to the front page - here's what's up!
Dear OverTake community,
As some of you may have seen in the forums, I recently joined the OverTake team as your Community Manager. Though my background is in the possibly less glamorous but crucial world of game production, I've always had a passion for simracing and community engagement. Having worked on rFactor 2 and other projects related, I've been fortunate to stay closely connected to simracing communities, which makes joining this team especially exciting.
Like many of you, I jump into every sim I can get my hands on! The depth and history, the variety and vast knowledge base here that's accumulated over the years is mind blowing and entirely unique to our genre.
I'm inspired to help build on this solid foundation with the OverTake team and of course with all of your help and feedback! I look forward to sharing friendly banter and lively discussions with all of you.
So with that, let's get started with some practical news, boom!
We are continuously striving to improve your experience on our website, be that via the content you can find here, the downloads we provide, or just the general looks of the page. The latter will be the subject of the next step: A few changes should polish the overall experience on the front page - but do not worry, we are not going to take drastic measures so everything looks completely unrecognizable!
Instead, the main change you will find when scrolling down the page are certain categories that are embedded in between the latest articles. Those still make up the main part of the front page, but they are broken up by category sliders.
You may have noticed the video category slider in recent days that shows our latest YouTube videos as a thumbnail rotation. For the others, it is going to be a similar system - think of it as multiple recommendations tabs for different topics, such as guides or our affiliates.
Speaking of affiliates: We have a new one on board - Apex Sim Racing joins the line-up! They are currently running a Halloween promotion, too, so if you are looking for new gear, this is a good chance to save a few bucks. If you do decide to check it out, we would appreciate if you head over to their website using our Apex Sim Racing affiliate link - we make a small commission for each sale that way, but you won't have to pay a single cent on top! It also works when clicking the image below.

In other exciting news, we are already working on a feature to highlight the most popular mods of each month and will further on improve things as we go, stay tuned!
Of course, we are not done with just that, but for now, this is something we wanted to share with you and keep you in the know. As always let us know how you like it, and if you have other suggestions that you might want to see implemented in the future, do not hesitate to share them as well in the comments!
Best,
The OverTake Team
