Croft Circuit Coming to rFactor 2 in Q4 Content Drop

In the newest announcement about rFactor 2's Q4 content drop, yet another circuit will be released. BTCC fans rejoice: Croft Circuit is officially coming!

If I were a Yorkshire person, I'd be proud right now, as Studio 397 announced Croft Circuit, the go-to Yorkshire motorsports venue to be officially added as DLC to rFactor 2.

After only having a (rather good) mod for Croft, now is the time for an update and official support. Don't forget, however, this DLC is laser-scanned.

The Track Itself

Hosting major races in the BTCC as well as British F4, Croft is a go-to venue for British motorsports.

Racing at Croft started all the way back in the 1920s but like so many English race tracks, it was only after World War 2 that Croft became a significant motorsports venue. And how else would it be, than by using a decommissioned Royal Air Force airfield?

Croft's first race as a permanent circuit was in 1964 at the so-called "Autodrome" using a 1.75-mile (2.816 km) layout with 12 turns. That layout persisted all the way until 1981 when the track had fallen into disrepair.

Until 1995, no circuit racing happened, however, the FIA European Rallycross Championship was hosted several times on the premises.

A short-lived new layout in 1995-1996 meant resumed circuit racing at Croft. In 1997, though, the layout as it stands today was built.

Croft features a Main Circuit with 2.127 miles (3.423 km) and 16 corners and two club circuits. Club Circuit 'A' and 'B' are shorter loops of existing main circuit roads.

The Q4 Content Drop So Far

Up until now, the Q4 content drop releases the following DLC:
Furthermore, tomorrow will feature the last piece of content for the Q4 drop.

Croft Circuit is coming to rFactor 2 on Monday, November 7th.

I predict a flood of content as they realize how lucrative their streamlined in-game store is just as Raceroom discovered

Let's hope they follow the Reiza way of doing things and provide historic, vintage, and classic versions of the track as well as the modern layout

Doubtful. Not counting '70s F1 cars, the most historic/vintage release from S397 has been a Mini with modern safety gear. '66 Brianza (Monza), Monte Carlo (Monaco), and Spa date back to ISI's rF2 launch and no historic tracks have since been released. The one hope is that we'd get a historic 'Ring, mentioned in passing when S397 released Nurburgring in 2019.

With Laser Scanning, they have tended, no they have always, only presented layouts that are at the track at the time of the scan. Since they only mentioned one layout vs the 4 layouts that will be available with Bahrain, I think the current track is all we will see.
Probably 1 more car announcement, most likely BTCC. Vauxhall, Cupra Leon(Seat) or Honda, one of those would be my guess.

Always liked this track, it was always my favourite from the old TOCA games, great to get a proper version even if the mod itself wasn't too bad!

Delayed to 2023 was the last I heard, but I'm not connected so who knows? Notice we are only getting 2021 & 2022 cars....
I'm a bit pessimistic when it comes to Motorsports Games projects... Remember, they are supposed to release 3 new titles: WEC, BTCC and Indycar. And all they can do (apart from rFactor 2) is a crappy, laughable NASCAR game.

Yesterday’s LMH was a surprise, this Croft Circuit fits into all the BTCC content that has been released this year. It looks like rFactor 2 is becoming the Le Mans (WEC Endurance), BTCC and Indycar game.:D Oh… and they were already the Formula E game, but that probably has a smaller audience. Great work Studio 397!

Very cool addition! This was my favorite track in TOCA back in the day. This track will be perfect for some RD club races
thx for reminder, I wondered where I had encountered that weird hairpin before start/finish straight before: TOCA. Now, all we need is the green Laguna ...
