Sim Formula Europe 2024 Championship: Finalists Wanted!

30 racers enter, but only seven advance in the Sim Formula Europe 2024 Championship Semifinal. Europe’s fastest battle it out in rFactor 2 for a spot on the on-site Super-Final in Maastricht. Watch live at 8 pm CET on December 21!

The 60 drivers who qualified via the Hotlap Challenge have been reduced to 30 in the quarterfinal. Now, even less will make it to the next round of the Sim Formula Europe 2024 Championship – a spot in the Super-Final is on the line! Only the fastest seven advance to the on-site event at Maastricht on January 13, 2024.

After Zandvoort and the Outer Loop of the Bahrain International Circuit, the competitors now need to master the Porsche GT3 Cup 992 at the sprint version of the Nürburgring. The quarterfinals’ three splits turn to one of 30 drivers for the semifinal, so the stakes are raised even further.

Close Battles At Bahrain

Bahrain saw a close battle between France’s Thibault Cazaubon and Germany’s Michi Hoyer, who took the win by just .2 of a second ahead of Cazaubon in Split 1. Turkka Hakkinen pulled out a more obvious gap over Jernej Simoncic at roughly 2.6 seconds, as did Split 3 winner Isaac Gillissen over Dawid Mroczek at almost three seconds.

Sim Formula Europe 2024 Semifinal: Who makes it to Maastricht?

Now, the pressure is on, however. All 30 remaining drivers take to the track in a single split. However, to make it to the Maastricht event, finishing in the Top 7 is crucial. Only then will they have a chance to compete for their share of the €10.000 prize money pool. They will be joined by the defending champion Damian Skowron. The overall winner takes home €3.000 from the sim racing exhibition.

Lifelong motorsport enthusiast and sim racing aficionado, walking racing history encyclopedia. I have been working in sim racing since 2021 after previously working with pro and amateur sports teams and athletes for a daily newspaper in Wolfsburg. Nothing gets me more excited than motor racing, especially with the beastly machines of the past. A third pedal and h-shifter are not just options for a rig, they are mandatory to me. Avid fan of the IndyCar series (modern and CART/pre-split).
