A new patch will bring new items inspired by the foundation and Michael Schumacher to the game. A special car livery, a podium emote as well as a helmet, gloves, suit, and a badge can be bought by players.
According to Codemasters, proceeds from sales will go directly to the Keep Fighting foundation. The content will be available on PC from August 10, and on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia one day later.
Codemasters had already dedicated the special edition of the game to the seven-time F1 world champion. “We are equally proud to support the Keep Fighting foundation. Many of our players regard Michael as the greatest of all time, and we know the exclusive items will prove incredibly popular,” says Lee Mather, F1 Franchise Director at Codemasters.
A foundation for fighters
Keep Fighting is a non-profit initiative inspired by Michael Schumacher. It supports various projects in public sectors like education, culture and science. The goal is to spread the message to never give up and to “transform the positive energy received by Michael Schumacher and the Schumacher family into a force for good.”
The initiative, for example, honors those with outstanding life stories with an award, and also organized the Champions for Charity game with Dirk Nowitzki and Mick Schumacher.
Among the trustees of the foundation are Jean Todt, president of FIA and Ross Brawn, Sporting Director of Formula 1.
