The Golden Joystick Awards is an annual award show hosted by gamesradar. This year, the event celebrates its 38th edition and has turned into a digital broadcast, instead of the traditional live broadcast from London. Fans can publicly nominate publishers and games in a range of different categories, such as Best Audio, Best Gaming Hardware, Best Storytelling, Best Studio and much more. A panel of journalists then creates shortlists for each of the categories, where fans can vote for their favorite title.
There are 20 different video games to vote for in the category “Ultimate Game of the Year”. The organizer stated on Twitter that the range of these games reflects gaming’s broad diversity of genres and the once-in-a-generation launch of new gaming consoles. F1 2020 represents the racing genre, as it is the only title of this sort on this list. Last year, Capcom’s masterpiece Resident Evil 2 won the award.
