F1 23 Vegas Showrun: Free Play Weekend & Exclusive Stream

F1 23

Formula One is going to Las Vegas for the first time since 1982. So of course, the offical game has to follow suit. EA announced the F1 23 in Vegas Showrun featuring an exclusive livestream as well as a free play weekend during the Grand Prix.

F1’s latest foray to Sin City to date in 1982 is not exactly remembered fondly. For the second time, the World Championship made station at the Caesars Palace hotel parking lot – yes, really. A 14-turn circuit was created to host Grands Prix in 1981 and 1982. Unlike most tracks, it was run counterclockwise, so drivers’ necks were subject to forces they were not really used to.

Even worse, the track surface did not offer much grip, and the heat of the 1982 event did not help either. 1980 World Champion Alan Jones won in 1981, Michele Alboreto took is maiden victory there a year later. Not many fans were around to see it, though, as crowds were hardly deserving of the name.

F1 23 Vegas Showrun: Free Play Weekend

For 2023, a different circuit incorporating the iconic Strip hosts Formula One’s return to Las Vegas. The race weekend takes place from November 16 to 18 – a weekend that F1 23 fans and those who want to try the game should look forward to. During the entire Las Vegas GP weekend, F1 23 will be free to play.

To lean into the glitz-and-glamour image of the city even more, the F1 23 Vegas Showrun also includes an exclusive livestream. None other than reigning World Champion Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing), Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, Alpha Tauri’s Daniel Ricciardo will appear. British pro boxer Anthony Joshua is going to join the trio of drivers.

Meanwhile, players will be able to score Vegas-themed in-game rewards. The F1 23 Vegas Showrun trailer also mentions “more” – so players should probably prepare for a few surprises.
