James Baldwin and two other drivers will join McLaren Shadow for the F1 Esports Series 2020.

McLaren’s esports brand McLaren Shadow has confirmed on Monday that the team will race in the F1 Esports Series for a fourth consecutive year. The competition will start in October and contains 12 races. The first event will take place on October 14 and Ocotber 15 with the first three races being held on those days.
McLaren Shadow have already revealed their first driver for the 2020 season: James Baldwin, the World’s Fastest Gamer 2019. The other two drivers for the team will be announced on August 27, when the F1 Esports teams reveal which drivers they have chosen in the new Pro Draft.

In 2019, McLaren Shadow finished in sixth place of the Constructors Standings in the F1 Esports Series. Their drivers Bono Huis and Enzo Bonito earned themselves places 7 and 12 in the driver championship. With Baldwin being new in the McLaren driver seat, the team hopes for even better results.
James Baldwin is looking forward to his new challenge at McLaren Shadow: “Being my first year competing in F1 Esports, I don’t know fully what to expect but I am excited for the first round to show everyone what I can do on the Formula 1 game”, the British is being quoted in McLaren’s official announcement.
A total of 10 teams will compete in the F1 Esports Series. In 2019 Red Bull, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Renault, Williams, Racing Point, Mercedes, AlphaTauri and Haas took part with their esports teams alongside McLaren.
