In the latest Forza Monthly stream, Playground Games announced the next update coming to Forza Horizon 5; Summer Party. Bringing new cars and longer night, players’ voices have been heard.
It’s that time of the month again. We have just had the latest Forza Monthly live stream which means Forza Horizon 5 players can expect a significant update in the coming days. Summer Party is the name of the latest FH5 Series which comes alongside the update and features several much-asked for additions.
In fact, alongside the update which includes several bug fixes, Summer Party totally changes the game’s day-night cycle. It will also feature half a dozen new cars and a brand new Horizon Story for players to dig their teeth into. Here’s everything you need to know about the update dropping on 20 July.
Game-Changing FH5 Update
A somewhat sizeable update, there are many lines in the patch notes that will prove game-changing. In fact, aside from the bug fixes present, the gameplay experience is getting a thorough overhaul.
The largest change follows community requests concerning the day-night cycle. After the recent Midnight at Horizon series, which featured a longer night, fans have wanted this feature to return.
Well, Playground Games agrees. That’s why the night portion of the cycle will now be longer. Furthermore, this won’t disappear when the August update comes out. This is a permanent feature.
Elsewhere, a great place for players to get together in-game is the Stadium. In the past, this landmark of the FH5 map has been a NASCAR oval track, a stunt park and a simple football pitch. But to celebrate summer, the stadium is being transformed into a beach area with plenty of ramps, palm trees and beach balls. The Street Scene festival will also gain several themed decorations in the spirit of summer.
Finally, the update also features the aforementioned bug fixes. These range from glitches in the settings screens to tweaks to cars recently released to the game.
Summer Party Reward Cars
With every new Forza Horizon 5 update comes a number of new cars to win and Summer Party is no different. Over the next four weeks, players will have the chance to earn themselves up to six all-new models in the game. Most models focus on American muscle. But one of the six is a popular JDM sports car, iconic among automotive enthusiasts.
Players will get the chance to win each car during their specific week of the upcoming series. Complete challenges to earn points which go towards claiming the reward cars. Here’s how to win each model.
Prior to completing the Horizon Series challenges, one might want to check out the new Horizon Story. In Summer Party, one can earn the 1,000hp 2019 Hennessey Camaro Exorcist by simply experiencing the story’s eight chapters.
As for the weekly challenges, four of the new cars are available to win. In week 1 – from 20 to 27 July – one can win the cool Australian Ford XB Falcon GT from 1973. Just 20 points are needed to win this pony car with a 315ci V8 putting out over 300hp,
The following week, Hot Wheels joins the party once more with a special edition Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. This car finished in all-white better resembles a NASCAR from its time than a road-going machine. 1,000 ponies, a four-on-the-floor transmission and a body that scrapes the ground. It is certainly a great prize for claiming 20 points in Week 2.
The 2022 Toyota GR86 joins the game in Week 3 of the Forza Horizon 5 Summer Party. Braking up the muscle car theme, it too requires 20 points despite featuring half the cylinders of all other cars in the update. In fact, the four-pot boxer puts out just 228hp. However, the car does come with a fancy bodykit and several upgrades.
Finally, a more standard Pontiac Firebird Trans Am completes the Series. Once more, this car becomes available after earning 20 points across its week’s worth of challenges. Win all four cars in the Playlist, or earn 80 points across all four weeks and you will claim the final car in the lot; the 2018 DeBerti Ford Mustang GT.
More to Come
Alongside the announcement for Forza Horizon 5 Summer Party, Playground Games hinted at what is coming in August to the game. Once again, the next update is set to get fans excited. Focusing on Italian models, it will see brands like Alfa Romeo, Lancia and Fiat all get their moment in the spotlight.
The series for August will reportedly be called Italian Automotive and will showcase some of the most iconic models from the land of the boot. So if this month’s selection of reward cars doesn’t tempt you, next month’s certainly will.
