Forza Horizon 5 Winter Wonderland Update: Drivers’ Cars Headline

Forza Horizon 5

Advent calendars are out in the real world. Meanwhile, Forza Horizon 5 is also celebrating Christmas with its Winter Wonderland Update. Here is all you need to know.

It is that time of the month again. The next month’s worth of challenges, rewards and additions for Forza Horizon 5 have been announced. With Christmas on its way, Mexico is celebrating early with its Winter Wonderland Update, announced alongside updates to Forza Motorsport.

Including plenty of cars to claim from returning models to all-new examples, it seems players will get their hands on plenty of exciting sportscars this month. The update also includes several fixes and a new Car Pack focusing on the world of Fast & Furious. Here is everything you need to know about the update.

FH5: Winter Wonderland Additions

Whilst the most exciting announcements with each Forza Horizon 5 update are the cars, Winter Wonderland includes a number of game changes that will put smiles on faces. First of all, a collection of bug fixes will raise the game’s bar. These include new engine audio for the recently added Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06. Other vehicles also get minor graphical adjustments.

Elsewhere, the Events Creation Lab receives a number of – oddly – un-Christmassy objects. Enabling players to create more realistic circuits, the update adds a set of kerbs, marker boards and concrete barriers and a gantry. Whilst not every player spends time building tracks, everyone will enjoy seeing these additions in future events.

To pick back up with the Christmas celebrations of the update, Forza Horizon 5 will spend all of December in winter. Typical monthly playlists see the game’s map spend a week in each of the three seasons. This month, snow will find itself on the Mountain peak all-month. In addition, the game’s Stadium will be decorated accordingly.

A Petrol Head’s Christmas

In recent FH5 updates, new cars have not gone the way of the driving enthusiast. In fact, last month featured bulky Americana. But it seems drivers get a pleasant Christmas gift this year. Not only are each week’s reward cars a collection of sports cars. A special Secret Santa event is also sure to provide players with some unique dream models.

In fact, V12 engines are a theme in the Secret Santa event. Over the course of the month, players that send others gifts will fill up a community meter. Much like the weekly playlist meters, as they fill up, car rewards become available. At the 50% mark of the Secret Santa event, every player will win the GMA T.50, a jaw-dropping V12-powered fan car with McLaren F1 inspiration. If the meter reaches 100%, the Aston Martin Valkyrie will also find its way into everyone’s garage.

Forza Horizon 5 Winter Wonderland Reward Cars

Aside from the special Christmas event, the latest Forza Horizon 5 update features the standard car rewards for each week as well as the overall month. Each player can claim these models by completing challenges and earning points. Unlike most months, these rewards do not feature many new-to-the-game models.

In Week 1, the cars on offer are the Lotus 2-Eleven track car for 20 points across the playlist. Double that total and you can get your hands on the MG6 XPower.

Fans of oldschool British style will enjoy the first car in Week 2. The Morgan Aero GT is an out-and-out supercar with a classic body. The Lynk&Co 03 TCR car is far from new to FH5, having previously appeared in several playlists. This time, one can win it for 40 points.

As aforementioned, this month is for the driving enthusiasts. One car that screams that more than any other is the fun Subaru BRZ. This sports coupe is available for 20 points in Week 3. The 40-point model between 21-28 December is the Porsche 935 recreation from 2019.

The final week of Winter Wonderland for Forza Horizon 5 crosses over into 2024. The first car one can win in the New Year is the odd Lotus 340R. At 40 points is another chance for players to win the Lamborghini Huracan STO, a popular model in the game.

For the overall Festival Playlist, the all-electric Porsche Mission R will become available at 80 points across the month. For the larger reward, Koenigsegg’s Agera is unlocked at 160 points. These numbers each reflect the points needed to get each week’s reward cars. If one manages to win the first reward each week, they will get the Porsche. Win two cars per week and the Agera is yours.

Fast & Furious Car Pack

The list of new cars coming this month is not quite over. Alongside the free content is yet another DLC Car Pack. This time, Playground Games are taking a look at the new Fast X film, part of the Fast & Furious franchise.

In total, five new cars to the game come with the pack. Recognisable creations such as the infamous Flip Car and Dominic Toretto’s Dodge Charger join a trio of new-to-the-franchise cars. A modified Datsun 240Z, high-riding Chevrolet Impala Super Sport and more recent Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody complete the line-up.

New Autoshow Cars

Finally, the list of new cars coming to Forza Horizon 5 in December concludes with a quartet of vintage racers. The four models from the 1950’s-1970’s are already available to purchase in the game’s Autoshow. However, beware, their racing pedigree is sure to bump up the price.

From Aston Martin, the DBR1 joins FH5 as a Le Mans winning monster. The car has featured in previous Forza titles. But Horizon 5 players have missed this legendary Aston speedster. Set to match the Aston nicely is the Jaguar C-Type. It too raced at Le Mans and will combine for fantastic racing.

Later cars joining the FH5 Autoshow are the 1966 Porsche 906 Carrera. This sleek wedge is fun in most games, but don’t expect much power from its little two-litre flat-six. Finally, the Ferrari 512 S provides the noise thanks to its 1970’s V12.
