Funselektor's new game is launchin soon: The creators of art of rally are working on Golden Lap - the charming manager game will release on Steam on September 26.
Fans of casual racing games are familiar with Funselektor via art of rally and Absolute Drift, both of which prioritize going sideways in their own unique way. The latest project of the studio is less about driving, though, instead focusing on managing a 1970s fictionalized Formula One team. That is what Golden Lap is all about.
Now, the charming title has a release date: It is set to launch on Steam on September 26. Instead of trying to replicate what managing an F1 team would be like down to the finest detail, Golden Lap takes a more relaxed approach with lots of tongue-in-cheek humor via driver attributes such as "Jerk" or driver ratings being impacted by them being out partying the night before the race - classic 70s racer, we'd say.
This also extends to the fictionalized tracks that any racing fan will probably recognize the real version of. Circuits like Muttonchop or Circuit de Casino even have their own corner names - nice little details that create a charming feel.
We already tried a preview version of Golden Lap back in June - check the article for more detailed first impressions! We are also looking forward to diving into a review version of the game soon.
