Back in June, Sony officially announced Gran Turismo 7. Ever since, the GT community has been speculating about the release date of the new game. On Monday, a forum user on gtplanet.net discovered an official YouTube advertisement for GT7 with a small French caption, that says (translated): “Release planned for the first half of 2021.”

On November 19, the new PlayStation 5 will be released. Initially, there were rumors that Gran Turismo 7, a PlayStation-exclusive game, could be a possible launch title for the platform. The Official PlayStation Magazine later reported that the game would be released within the “launch window” of the PS5. It is now clear that we will not get Gran Turismo 7 in 2020.

Fans of the GT series had to wait almost seven years for a new game to be announced, since Gran Turismo 6 was published in December 2013. In March 2018, the online services for the PlayStation 3 game were terminated by Sony. Since then, players could only dive into the 2017 released Gran Turismo Sport for some online GT racing.

For Gran Turismo 7, Sony will bring back the GT Simulation Mode. The publisher also announced that there will be many opportunities for players to tune and customize their cars in the game. Besides this and the scenes from the official announcement trailer, we do not know too much about the game yet.
