One of the most anticipated racing game releases for some time looks like it may be getting delayed again according to a document from publisher Nacon.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown has been a long time in the making. The series’ last entry released all the way back in 2011, and this new game was initially scheduled for a launch in 2022 before getting delayed for this year.
But it would appear it’s getting delayed yet again. A document from Nacon now has the new Solar Crown game releasing in early 2024.
In a 318 page document from Nacon released on 31 March, upcoming games have been given a release window. The graphic ranges from April this year to March next year, with fellow Nacon published racing games like TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 3 listed at the top in its May 2023 release.
Overpass 2 has its release date of 12 October, and in the same row of racing games, all the way across is Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown. With a still to be confirmed release date, it is now slated for a February/March 2024 release.
Of course, it’s a disappointment that the game is no longer set for release this year. But as Shigeru Miyamoto once said, “A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.”
After all, we all remember what happened to Cyberpunk 2077, don’t we?
For quite a while, the game was listed to be releasing on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and also for Nintendo Switch. But that graphic also lists PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, so last-gen console gamers look like they won’t be missing out.
