Since the launch of Assetto Corsa Competizione in 2018, players have pleaded with the developers to add one track. But now, it could realistically be added to the game!

Over the weekend, the Spa 24 hours – the jewel in the crown of the SRO Motorsports Group’s racing calendar – took place. Traditionally, this has always been the time that they announce their plans for the following season.
SRO Motorsports Group host a wide variety of GT championships, including all of the GT World Challenge series, as well as the Intercontinental GT Challenge. They also have their own official game. Assetto Corsa Competizione features cars and tracks that race in SRO-sanctioned series.
As a result of this, there have been a few tracks that the community have asked for but could never realistically be added. But one circuit that has been requested so much that it has become a running joke could now potentially, finally, be on the way.
Nordschleife to ACC?
For years, many of the players in the ACC community didn’t understand why the Nordschleife wasn’t in the game. The Nürburgring GP circuit was, and both the GP and Nordschleife were in the original Assetto Corsa. So what gives?
With no SRO-sanctioned series hosting a race on the Nordschleife, that meant it wasn’t eligible to be added to the platform. Other major GT endurance races like the 12 hours of Bathurst, 9 hours of Kyalami, 24 hours of Spa, 10 hours of Suzuka and 8 hours of Indianapolis meant that all those tracks were eligible.
But now, SRO have said the words that many an ACC player has been waiting five long years to hear: They have taken control of the 24 hours of Nürburgring.
For the Intercontinental GT Challenge in 2024, the 24 hours of Nürburgring will be part of the schedule. This means that the requests of adding the Nordschleife to ACC can no longer be met with “SRO don’t organise it so it can’t be added”. Now it’s entirely within the realm of possibility.
The handlers of the Intercontinental GT Challenge social channels wasted no time in teasing the Nordschleife being added to Assetto Corsa Competizione.
One Problem
With Assetto Corsa 2 set for a Spring 2024 launch, many people have theorised that the upcoming GT2 car pack would be ACC‘s last update. This has been backed up by Kunos developers.
Head of vehicle development Aristotelis Vasilakos claimed on stream during Round 1 of the Moza Racing Endurance Championship that development for ACC will end once the Assetto Corsa follow-up is released.
But with the teasing from the IGTC social handler, and the community urging to see it happen, maybe it would make for the perfect swansong for ACC: To finally see the Nordschleife in the game.
