8.45 PM CEST – DIRT 5 and Project Cars 3 win gamescom awards!
The gamescom: Best Of Show is underway and two racing games were just rewarded with a gamescom award. Codemasters’ DIRT 5 wins the award as “Best Racing Game”. A new game mode called Playgrounds was during Opening Night Live. Check out our special preview of the map creation feature below:
Meanwhile, Project Cars 3 wins the award for “Best Simulation”. Slightly Mad Studios’ game thus trumps Planet Coaster Console Edition (Frontier Development) and Endzone – A World Apart (Assemble Entertainment). If you want to know how realistic Project Cars 3 really is, check out our game review:

7.20 PM CEST – The best of gamescom
gamescom 2020 is slowly coming to an end. But every good ending needs a great final! At gamescom: Best Of Show, IGN takes a look back at the biggest announcements, live shows, surprises and more from the digital fair.
PROJECT CARS 3 AND DIRT 5 NOMINATED FOR GAMESCOM AWARDS
Also, a lot of gamescom awards still need to find their winner. The biggest question for us of course is: Which game will become “Best Racing Game”? Nominated in this category are DIRT 5, Project Cars 3 and Radical Relocation. Slightly Mad Studios’ Project Cars 3 also has the chance to win the award for “Best Simulation”. 6.10 PM CEST – Hotshot Racing takes us back in time
Lucky Mountain Games shared more gameplay from their arcade racing game Hotshot Racing. The game is inspired by 90s arcade games and combines their style with modern features like proper driving physics and improved engine sounds. GAMESCOM 2020: NEW GAME TAKES RACERS BACK TO THE 90S
According to the developers, the game is made for both arcade and sim racing fans. Jimmy Broadbent has already had the chance to play more than one hour and seemed to have a lot of fun with it.
5.15 PM CEST – Williams Seven wins!
Frenchman Fabien ‘Williams Seven’ Piffet is the winner of Fordzilla Cup at gamescom 2020 as the casters on the broadcast just confirmed. Even though he is tied in points with THR Mitch, Piffet wins the competition because he won the final race at Circuit de la Sarthe.

“From the start, I knew I had some good chances. I am just happy to win it, it was very close,” Williams Seven says in the post-race interview. “It means a lot as a confidence booster.”
5.10 PM CEST – It’s a tie at Fordzilla Cup!
This is going to be interesting! Fabien ‘Williams Seven’ Piffet wins the second race of the final at Fordzilla Cup with Gary ‘THR Mitch’ Mitchell in second place. This means both drivers are now overall tied in first place. But who is going to win the competition and the big prize? We are awaiting the decision of the race officials.
3:40 PM CEST – THR Mitch wins race 1 at Fordzilla Cup
The final of Fordzilla Cup is underway. Gary ‘THR Mitch’ Mitchell was able to win the first race at Brands Hatch and is currently leading the standings.

1:00 PM CEST – Fordzilla Cup Final kicks off
Team Fordzilla’s Fordzilla Cup held in Forza Motorsport 7 comes to an end today. At this moment, the broadcast on Team Fordzilla’s Twitch channel kicked off with a fun race including sim racing YouTuber Jimmy Broadbent.

At 1.30 PM, lights will go out for the final race of the competition. The winner is going to call himself a proud owner of a Fanatec Forza Motorsport Wheel Bundle as well as a BenQ Monitor and a Razer Headset.
