The latest Need for Speed title is among the two monthly downloadable PlayStation Plus games, Sony announced on Tuesday. If you are subscribed to the service, which requires a monthly payment of between €5 and €9, you will be able to download Need for Speed Payback to your PlayStation for the rest of October at no additional cost.
The game was published by Electronic Arts in 2017 and created by Swedish developer studio Ghost Games. It received mixed reviews from the virtual racing scene, mainly because it failed to bring anything new to the Need for Speed franchise.
However, if you are looking for an open-world casual racing game, you might as well try out this one for free. If you download Need for Speed Payback via PlayStation Plus, you will be able to play the game for the duration of your subscription.
New NFS game coming in November
The game’s addition to the PS Plus lineup comes along with the announcement of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered, which is set to be released on November 6.
Ghost Games is no longer involved in the development of the Need for Speed series, as publisher Electronic Arts have put Criterion back in charge of the franchise. The British studio was responsible for the third Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit as well as for Most Wanted.
