OverTake and RaceDepartment Join Forces

In our latest episode of Nitro Nights, Rene revealed a major new collaboration which OverTake will embark upon in 2023.

Since starting up a few years ago, OverTake has always worked hard to deliver the best content we can. However, all of that work would be for nothing if it wasn’t for the amazing community we have built along the way. The growth we have seen in our community has been incredible, and as has its quality.

Now, as we get ready to bring you plenty of virtual racing news, tutorials, hot takes and more in 2023, we have an announcement to make.

A New Chapter

Since the beginning, OverTake has always looked to collaborate with other companies and individuals within the scene. It is through these collaborations that we have been able to host events such as the Dream Team Series. Now, we want to push it to the next level.

We explored ways to further elevate our content in 2023, and we came across what we believe to be the perfect partner to help us do just that: RaceDepartment

For most of you, RaceDepartment will require no introduction. It is a news outlet and forum for all things sim racing, which was founded 16 years ago. Since then, it has grown to be an incredible hub of hardcore racing game fans, and it boasts the largest community of sim racers in the world.

When OverTake began in 2020, it was born of a similar passion. However, our approach has always been different to that of RaceDepartment. Our focus is on high quality video content, as well as our ambition to make sim racer more accessible and entertaining to as many people as possible, be they seasoned veterans or total newcomers.

Because of these differing approaches, we feel that OverTake and RaceDepartment are a perfect match. By teaming up together, we can create more content, share more knowledge and develop a world where sim racing is bigger, better and faster than it has ever been.

What Does it Mean?

Our aim is to bring OverTake and RaceDepartment together under one roof. This means integrating all of the beloved features and content from RaceDepartment here on OverTake.gg. Ultimately, this will lead to more of everything. Forums, videos, tutorials, events, mods; all of it will remain, but there will be even more of each.

Articles published here on OverTake will be available on RaceDepartment too, as our editorial teams will be working in tandem with one another. On top of that, the RaceDepartment forums will be accessible directly from the OverTake website. Doing so, you will be greeted with the same content, though it will look a little bit different to how it looks when accessed via the RaceDepartment website itself.

We are thrilled to have this opportunity to develop our OverTake project beyond what we have been able to do so far. We hope you are as excited as we are. To learn more, take a look at our latest Nitro Nights episode, or take a look at this statement on the RaceDepartment website

My name is Jacob and I have been writing for OverTake since November of 2020. I come from the UK, but I'm now living in Berlin. I love to watch, write about and sometimes shout about all forms of racing.
