Publisher: New DiRT Game Soon to be Announced

Codemasters will soon reveal a new DiRT game, potentially DiRT 5. DiRT Rally 2.0 will not get another season.

Codemaster published a letter to the DiRT community on May 1, in which the studio reveals that there is a new game around the corner which is soon to be announced. “Prepare to see something new roar to life in the world of DiRT, very soon,” it says in the letter.

While the community has been speculating about the new game since the reveal, it seems likely that Codemasters is going to come up with DiRT 5. A tweet published on Tuesday underlines this suggestion.

DiRT 4 launched in June 2017, followed by DiRT Rally 2.0 in February 2019. The latter has been running through four seasons since. However, Codemasters admits that there will not be another season for DiRT Rally 2.0. “Some minor updates and surprises are planned,” but the team is now focusing on future games.

DiRT Rally fans do not have to be sad, though. The developers are already working on the next project for the series: “We have big plans, driven by a passionate development team, solely tasked with taking the Rally series to even greater heights.” However, it will probably take a while until we get an update on those plans.
