Over the weekend, the Goodwood Festival of Speed took place. To mark the occasion, the Rennsport team have announced more additions to the closed beta. First and foremost is the Goodwood hillclimb, which was used in the inaugural Rennsport summit in 2022.

Along with that, Competition Company have revealed a brand new car. Porsche’s LMDh/GTP racecar, the 963, which races in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the IMSA SportsCar Championship, will soon be added to Rennsport.

Porsche 963 Rennsport

Since Porsche’s return to the top flight of sportscar racing, the 963 has been heavily requested to be added into many sim racing platforms. It will be available in Le Mans Ultimate when it launches in December 2023. It has also been suggested that the Porsche will join other LMDh cars like the BMW M Hybrid V8 and the Cadillac V-Series.R GTP on iRacing.

Onsite at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last weekend, players were able to drive the 963 on the Goodwood Hillclimb. Now both the car and track are coming to the Rennsport closed beta in the not too distant future, along with the already available Praga R1, GT3 cars from Porsche, Audi, BMW and Mercedes and tracks Spa-Francorchamps, Hockenheimring, Nürburgring GP and Monza.

Additionally, another Porsche has been in Rennsport, albeit not yet accessible in the beta. The all-electric Mission R was seen doing Goodwood Hillclimb runs at the Rennsport summit and last year’s Festival of Speed. It’s unknown whether it will be made available in the beta.

The addition of an LMDh car like the 963 follows on from Competition Company’s promise to add LMDh and TCR cars. Whilst no TCR car has been confirmed, expect one to be added to the beta before the intended release window of late 2023.

For those interested in playing the closed beta, there are opportunities coming up to gain access.
