Virtual GP: F1 veteran Pérez debuts on Sunday

F1 driver Sergio Pérez and Premier League star Aymeric Laporte will compete in Round 7 of the Formula 1 Virtual GP.

The 2020 Formula 1 season will start on July 3 in Austria, which means that there will only be two more Virtual Grand Prix races. On Sunday, June 7, the Virtual GP series will head to Baku.

Some new prominent drivers will join the field in Azerbaijan. Aymeric Laporte, defender for the Premier League club Manchester City FC will make his debut at the Virtual Grand Prix as well as the experienced Formula 1 driver Sergio Pérez. The Mexican has been competing in the prestigious racing series since 2011.

Another Formula 1 professional driver joins the field with Pierre Gasly. Furthermore, goalkeeper stars Gianluigi Donnaruma (AC Milan) and Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid) will enter the fray at Baku.

So far, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Williams’ George Russell have been the most successful drivers in the virtual Formula 1 GP series. They will return to the virtual track on Sunday as well as Alex Albon, Antonio Giovinazzi, Nicholas Latifi and Lando Norris.
