The esports racing division of F1 team Williams Racing have announced that they will be entering the Rocket League Championship Series.

Williams Esports have prided themselves on entering a variety of championships in the esports racing scene, whether that be F1 Esports, Porsche Esports SuperCup, V10 R-League, Le Mans Esports Series, MotoGP Esports or eNASCAR. They have blazed the trail on approaching the virtual driving scene, and now they can add Rocket League to that ever-growing list.

They’ve launched their RLCS effort with pre-existing UK-based esports team Resolve, a competitive organisation that started out as a community providing coaching to players on a variety of games, before rising to the competitive scene only last year.

In a joint statement with Resolve, Williams Racing’s Chief Marketing Officer Tim Hunt stated that the RLCS has been on the team’s radar for some time.

Rocket League has been a topic of discussion around the team for a while now; our people play it; their kids play it – it’s huge. Regardless of whether it’s on track or off it, Williams Racing has an imperative to race and compete, and this is what we’ll be doing with Resolve as we enter the Rocket League Championship Series Season XI. This partnership is incredibly exciting; Resolve have made an impressive start to life as a competitive esports team and we’re looking forward to being a part of that as we continue to take on the world of esports and expand our audience beyond racing.

Williams Esports are not the first team with an esports racing background to compete in the RLCS. Veloce Esports used to compete up until the end of 2019, and earlier this year BS+COMPETITION joined the series.

Be sure to follow the social channels of Williams Esports and Resolve to find out when they will be making their debut. You can watch the Rocket League Championship Series on the official Rocket League Twitch channel.
