Our host m3lly welcomes F1 Esports Series champion David Tonizza to this episode of Nitro Nights.
David Tonizza is an absolute expert when it comes to F1 Esports. The Ferrari driver is a two-time Formula Motorsport Drivers champion and won the F1 Esports Series in his first season in 2019. This weekend, he will race in the 24H of Le Mans Virtual. He tells m3lly how hard he works to learn a new sim for the game and how he prepares for the endurance race.
“Training with Charles is great for me”
The Italian is living every racer’s dream. He is a member of Ferrari and already claimed many victories for his team. Alongside of former Nitro Nights guest Enzo Bonito he will try to win the 24H of Le Mans Virtual. Joining the line-up are F1 drivers Charles Leclerc and Antonio Giovinazzi. In our interview he tells that the real and virtual racers are constantly learning from each other.
“We will try everything we can to win”
The Ferrari driver is very excited participating at the 24H of Le Mans Virtual. He feels incredibly honored to drive at such an historic event. The esports racer drives to the Ferrari museum every day to practice in the attached training center. There, he works on his skills in rFactor 2, in which the 24H will be taking place. Since he and all his teammates are no endurance racers they have to do a lot of mental preparation as well, David says.
