Trak Racer TR8 Pro Cockpit Review: So Easy to Build

In our newest hardware review, we test the Trak Racer TR8 Pro cockpit. Can it really be built in 45 minutes, as the company promises? And how good does it feel in action?

Building a sim racing rig takes a lot of time and craftmanship. But what if you prefer spending time in your rig rather than building it?

In this case, the Trak Racer TR8 Pro claims to be the solution. The advertising says it just takes 45 minutes to build!

In our latest video, Rene ordered the rig and tested how easy the setup really is and more importantly how good the rig feels when driving in different simulations.

Building the Trak Racer TR8 Pro is…Easy

In our video, Rene takes us through the entire process of building the cockpit, which actually doesn’t take too long. The Trak Racer TR8 Pro only consists of few parts and the mounting steps were very simple.

Rene comes to the conclusion that you can actually go from unpacking to racing within an hour, maybe even less if you have a hand for building rigs.

However, there were some minor changes we made to the setup during the building progress and there are some things that we would like to see changed for the next editions of this cockpit.

For example, Rene ordered the integrated triple screen stand which was too far away from the wheelbase for his liking which is why he installed his old triple screen mount on the rig again. There are some more smaller tweaks Rene made to the setup which you can see in our review video.

How Good Does the Rig Feel in Action?

After setting up the cockpit, Rene jumped right into the action. He was surprised by how stable and durable the rig is, considering the rather few amount of space it takes. Rene felt that there still was a bit of flexibility, especially when using more brake force or non-ABS cars.

However, he also has a very handy tip to reduce this issue and have lots of fun with the cockpit. To find out, watch our full review in our Trak Racer TR8 Pro review on YouTube!
