ACC fun factor compared to other Racing sims

ACC is not perfect yet but surely the driving is more enjoyable than any Racing sim out there!

I always have had a preference for competition and being at the top of the leaderboards. Smashing my wheel when taken out in the first corner of a iRacing race. With ACC's current state I must say that i smile when someone punts me. I don't care because I get pure joy when nailing a corner and feeling the car change during the race.

What do you guys think about ACC? I can't wait for more tracks and general game improvements.

I always had a knack for GT3 and was craving for a simulation dedicated to just one series. I was ready to go from a multipurpose 1000 cars, 1000 tracks sim, to a very dedicated and expert sim. I felt that because of the multitude of tracks and cars I never fully dedicated myself to understanding the track/car combination fully. Just jumping from cars to cars, tracks to tracks. Quite superficial experience for me.
To be fair, it was fun though going throught the ranks and classes in AC for example.

So ACC came along and I loved it from the beginning. I play ACC exclusively at the moment, still exploring cars and tracks. Just had a 30 min race on Nuerburgring against a 93% AI. I just love it when I get all the sectors together or when I understand the cornering lines better, resulting in a better sector time. Just had such an eye-opener in the last corner of Nuerburgring with the Aston and could gain a few hundreth there..

For me the feeling for the tyres / car behaviour and feedback through the wheel I get from ACC is miles ahead what I know from AC and R3E. Especially with the SimuCube2 compared to my old T500.

Not much of an online racer atm, but starting to feel I should dip (more than) a toe.
Also looking forward to the upcoming DLC!
I hope there will be much more content, maybe even GT4 to explore!

Same for me! :)

I too play ACC exclusively for the time being. I bought the early access (when I didn't have a wheel). Game was really unplayable. Since then, I bought a wheel and the game has improved massively! It really is a joy to drive now.

Online can be quite OK! I recently had a night where I jumped from race to race on different servers with different people. I qualified in the upper half of the grids and I had some super close battles all race long.
It can be hit and miss though. I've rage quit MP before too. :O_o:

I'm just rediscovering driving sims again after a long lay off without a PC, or the time to drive. My last game I put any time into was GTR 2.

I bought ACC not long after finishing my PC build and honestly I'm blown away by the physics as well as how good the game looks. It's just superb. Real learning curve, I've not even started on set ups yet, just getting used to the cars and tracks as well as trying to get my ratings up. I can see me playing this game for a long time to come, especially with the new tracks coming soon.

I actually bought Rfactor 2 tonight. I'd always wanted to try it since it first came out and at that point I didn't have a PC to use. I think ACC has ruined that game for me now! I only tried a few cars round Silverstone and I have already requested a refund! The car handing seemed decent, still not as good as ACC in my opinion, but the graphics, sound and UI are just no where near in the same league. I couldn't see myself wanting to put any time into that game compared to mastering ACC. It's a shame as I know it's a good title, but for me it's only ACC for now. I may buy Dirt Rally 4 as its on sale and its far removed enough from circuit racing for ACC not to ruin it for me!

I too jumped in sim racing after decades of shooting aliens (HL), North Koreans (Crysis 1), Arabs and multidimensional beings.

I was jumping from car to car from track to track and never mastered anything.

I started playing ACC exclusively after ~1.2 patch. Still learning but the feeling of car control, physics and FFB ACC provides, in my opinion, blows all other sims away. Since GT3 cars are "easy" to drive but difficult to be so much better, I always find races quite enjoyable with close car to car racing.

Before v1.2 I didn't like ACC at all. I actually refunded it a while ago and didn't look back. However when they released 1.2 update and people got all excited how much better ACC has become I decided to give it another go. I'm happy I did
Having said that I don't find it more enjoyable then rF2, R3E, AMS, but it's on the same level, which is good. I enjoy them all the same and all are superb imo.
I like how Aris is dedicated to make it better and better so I think good things await in the future

this sim is amazing...i think right now it is the one to beat...i am having so much fun online ...good (mostly) clean racing...and oh boy when it starts raining ...WOW!!! my GO TO sim right now (and i hate AC)...this sim has brought back my love for sim racing!!

I got in on the early access and was looking forward to the release. Upon release I was happy with it as it was the best sim of the bunch when it came to force feedback and physics, IMO.

The problem was that even after the update, which made it even better, no one wanted to play it unless they were running Monza.

My league went to iRacing so I have been doing a lot of that as I like being able to race on-line.

Yesterday I had a few hours prior to the Super Bowl and it was during the morning/early afternoon in my neck of the woods. I jumped in ACC and spent the next few hours there ( I missed the kick-off).

I had a good time and the time yesterday reminded me how good this sim is. Yet, after many months spent in iRacing I was also reminded of the greater numbers of racers who do not understand how to race with others. I was hit needlessly multiple times.

Overall though, it was a fun few hours on tracks that were not Monza. I just wish there was more on-line activity when I usually come on in the early evenings in the US. Seems this sim is more popular in Europe than in the US.

There is the ACC Racing Club here on RD that hosts a couple of races each week. We normally run them on Wednesday and Sunday evenings (starting at 20:00 UTC), so maybe you should try to join a Sunday session? (On the 9th, we'll be racing at Bathurst.)
Racing in general is clean (in the dedicated forum threads you can probably find some race highlights) and there are usually a number of really fast guys present.
I specifically became a Premium Member just so I could join the Racing Club and haven't regretted it for a moment.

I'm really enjoying my online experience with acc just jumping into random servers... And yeah while mostly servers run monza you can race elsewhere.. The standard in general I think is pretty damn good and a darn sight cheaper than Iracing.... Overall I'm loving it! Just had the most awesome race at zolder again in the rain now... Fantastic!

Hey 21. The pickup servers are always going to focus on the popular tracks like Monza, Spa etc. But if your schedule allows, I've been taking part in the 9pm CP races every other day or so. They've been averaging 14-20 drivers per race lately, the overall racecraft is really quite good, and the schedule keeps visits to Monza down to the small percentage of the rotation that it deserves (I also actively avoid it). If your SA is up at the level which gets you in the door, it's worth a look-see.

Just tried to up my SA. First round Spa, AI spinned, other AI avoiding spinning AI, crashed into me...SA penalty. Two laps further, flat out trough Eau Rouge in 5th i carry way more speed than AI. Approaching a Lambo in its slipstream at 1/3 of Kemmel Straight i want o pass the AI on the right. The AI suddenly brakes full. I slam into the back....spinning fully out of control into the barrier, back on Kemmel Straight, taking several AI with me...SA penalty deluxe...car was gone.
What a great fun factor. I rather have rFactor instead of Fun factor.

Hey eracer! Been awhile! Is that time eastern? If so, I may just try to jump in as I am usually on at about 1730 every night. If it is Pacific...well, due to my schedule I am in bed by that time except on the weekends. Perhaps I can jump in on Friday or Saturday nights.

Nope; Central. The CP races run 5, 7 and 9pm my time; if you can fit any of those in your schedule it'd definitely be good to run with you again.

Say hi to the guys at your next practice, maybe invite a few too!
