Asphalt Burning Netflix Movie

Hello,

The Netflix algorithm just warned me of a new movie coming January 2nd for gear heads.

I include a link for a trailer on Youtube.

The story is weird. A guy gets dumped by his fiancée at the altar and, to win her back, he has to race other people. The winner of the race will win the bride.

The cool part is that the race is at the Nordschleife.

OKAY! So its probably not always a good idea to give a movie review halfway through. BUT I'M LOVING IT!!!

Sure, probably some of the CGI would be better done using Forza Horizon, but this thing is a love letter to car people. The cars they use are all over the place, but you can tell there's passion. Its very charming and quirky. (Plus, it doesn't take itself too seriously like the Fast and Furious movies...)

I'll have to look up the other two. I hope they're on Netflix.

So...
1) Finished the movie. Loved it.
2) The other movies in the series have not made it to Netflix (yet)
3) I just watched the US Movie Need for Speed. It was terribly terrible. Not even laughably terrible. So formulaic. Decent car action though. Nice to see Jesse Pinkman's voice recovered after 2 hours of Batman impressioning.

Who needs Nicolas Cage when you have "Anders Da Broder"!

Less of a method actor but less crazy as well.

lol, quite a German centric cast. Weird to see the (fun country pop) band The Boss Hoss play roles.

If we're on the topic of car films, I can recommend Veloce come il vento , an Italian film about a girl from a racing family running in the Italian GT championship, with another "illegal cross country race" as backstory. But one of the hero cars is a 205 T16 ...
