Building a Playstation Compatible rig

Been looking for a while for a PS compatible rig, had arranged to purchase one over the weekend and the seller pulled out last minute so I'm going to bite the bullet and buy new. I'm thinking;
Fanatec Podium F1 - although looking for used as these are on back order until June!
Fanatec V3 Pedals
Sparco GRID Q Seat

What is a decent cockpit to purchase? I will be initially using a 50" TV I have lying around, but would like option to swap over to triples if I move over to PC.

Any suggestions on the above? I'm pretty stuck with the Fanatec Podium and Fanatec pedals due to the playstation compatibility.

... reasons for not jumping straight into PC is the fact I already have a PS5 and a PC is going to be well over a grand for anything decent.

Thanks,
Dean

As you are planning for high performance hardware I`d recommend to go for one of the better (more rigid) aluminium profile rigs.
The DD wheel will need the rigidity and the profiles will allow for easy alterations and additions.

About the screens, I had a 42" TV mounted to my DIY alu rig, not sure you could make it fit with a 50".

A separate screen stand may be a better option, just buy the tripple version from the beginning.

(And at a later point we´ll crush the idea that you´ll get a tripple driving PC for a thousand bucks .
Almost two years ago that money bought a Ryzen 3600x and a RX5700XT which drive my 1080p tripples ok(ish)

1080p is old tech and you know what happened to tech prizes )

Thanks,

When you say one of the better rigs, which ones? I’ve seen Trex and Sim lab? But the latter is out of stock at the moment. Also both EU so have to deal with shipping and customs.

Why don't you go for the GT DD Pro? It has comparable if not better FFB than the DD1 (of course there's less torque) it's in stock (which is most important for your case) and you can still enjoy the PS compatibility. I know that it comes with gear you wouldn’t need, but along with a Formula V2.5 you should be fine.

I was hoping the DD base was going to be available on its own, but doesn’t seem that way just yet. Just means I’ll be buying a wheel and pedal set which Are impossible to sell on by the looks of it on eBay.

They announced it will be released separately for 599.90 8nm only, and they were targeting the GT7 release, but it has to be approved by Sony first. Check the bottom of this blog before the comments.

Are you in the UK? I recently bought a PSR1 (very similar to the simlab) from raceanywhere which is based near silverstone. https://www.raceanywhere.co.uk/products/pro-sim-rig

Took a little over a week to arrive after ordering.

I'm really pleased with it. My only concern when ordering was that they supplied button rather than cap bolts, but I found it really didn't matter in the end.
