Crew Chief spotter online

Hey folks. I just participated in my first online race (it was even worse than you just envisioned!). I’ve used crew chief for abut a year, and love it. Both Jim and the spotter sound off when the program fires up.

When I do any off-line racing the spotter works fine. But online today, only Jim was active. I start CC when the computer boots - before any of the driving apps are started (Content Manager, Sim Commander, SteamVR etc).

Any thoughts?

I can't speak about racing online yet as I am a new AC on PC user, but I got my Crew Chief working for a few off line events yesterday and it was fine. Maybe an update is needed? I have no idea what else it may be that's causing your glitch. Hopefully a more experienced user will eventually chime in.

Ive had good luck with the offline races as well. But for some reason the online race was totally silent. the fact that spotter never popped in at all makes me think it’s not recognizing the competitors cars at all. Just not sure why. Going to have to move to Helicorsa since my lack of skills make it even more critical to be aware of my surroundings

The app is definitely updated. I’ll check with some of the other people in the league to see if they had any issues.

Ooohh ok, it's online giving you fits. Hopefully one of the others can help you out. If you get a fix, let us other newbies know in case it happens to us, haha..

Ok. Dumb mistake on my part. I did another offline race and realized that it was no longer working there either. Did some digging...

Apparently checking the “realistic mode” option disables the spotter. I dont recall changing this recently - but wouldnt be shocked that if stumbling across an option to make things more realistic...in a sim - I would have blindly hit it!

if anyone in the future has this issue, search the preferences for realistic and opt for the non-realistic option
