Lot of content has been added with no permission, which for old sim should be okay imho however there is only 45 skins here

I have a GME mod that loads 1,000 skins including 100 to 30+ skins for each model

I made separate class " Community Sklns" so even 100 car races have no default or repeating skins
It took years till I got any 100 different skins not to CTD and there is over 200 layouts I have tested will work

So I like to upload the mod and simply acknowledge all GTR2 painters

So you can run 100 BMW ( other models have less then 100 skins each )

Mod is 3GB install with JSGME/OVGME and won't conflict

I made a collection of skins, myself, so that I could run single make races for original content cars and have a variety of liveries.

Would be nice if we could make them available without the fuss of getting permission. It's so old, I would think it shouldn't be a problem anymore but who knows there's always oddballs out there who get offended.

Fix genstrings and make multi mods few mbs change 100's of wheels ..etc
Have it continually updated by community

If anything modders would be doing half the authors ( no offence meant ! ) a favour by fixing little issues or details to updating skins making them even better

In the total war modding community people
would be banned if they did not ask for another modders permission people can be highly sensitive and narcissistic about somethings i mean it's just a mod not the freaking mona lisa i am so glad i moved on from that sort of enviroment
if you credit the original mod team in the mods credits i am sure nobody would mind upload away I say.

Many modders in the past have quitted the modding scene because of stupid people who fooled them by taking their work, modifying a tiny part (adding a logo or changing color) then claiming "xxxx by me" ...it happend a lot to me and I always report to moderators this kind of behavior simply because it takes many days, weeks or months of work depending on the mod size/complexity, whereas it takes few minutes to take the work of someone else then to reupload it. I know that some modders like Trakaholics were really upset to see their mods repacked without any mention or readme but with "gtr2 mod by ME".
There is a huge difference between asking for permission/giving credit in readme (THE GOOD), and fooling others work by reuploading stuff you have not made yourself and claiming "look at MY work" (THE BAD).

I wish I could have a skin collection like this. I like having many liveries and being able to have a large single make grid for close racing. Eh, If I made skin mods back in the day (I didn't unfortunately), especially if they would be difficult to find nowadays I wouldn't have a problem with someone sharing them after all these years. In fact I would be glad, especially if I got mentioned in the readme file, though even mentioning that skins were made by community, I would think it's okay. There aren't many GTR2 skins still around from what I've seen and I think it would be a gift to community.
