Engine.ini File

Hey guys, I have looked everywhere for this information but I'm really struggling. I want to change engine failure rates on my offline custom F1 championship and have seen threads regarding changing parameters on the engine.ini file but my problem is that I can't seem to locate this file in the game's folders... Please help me locate it! Or is it something I need to download separately, e.g. does it come with the bootfile download? Thanks in advance for your help, Sta1ksey

I think maybe the Engine.ini you are referring to is an Automobilista 1 (i.e. RFactor engine) thing, which does not apply to AMS2. Would be great to be able to change the failure rates, but don't think we can at the moment, afaik.

Ahh ok gotcha. Thanks a lot for the reply! I saw advice on a few different forums/ threads and I thought it may have at least been in beta or had a historic workaround. Never mind! Totally agree, would be awesome to have and I'm sure it is on the list. Finger's crossed - I wanna see JP Montoya's notorious 2001 Williams engine blow 5 out of 6 races ;)

Yeah, I'd love to see that included by Reiza at some point - would add a lot of realism to offline historic racing, which seems to be becoming AMS2's main selling point (or one of them) - so it would make a lot of sense to do it.

By the way - Timo Dick made a good video that mentioned this only yesterday, in the context of the 1991 mod and his custom AI file:

On a different note, why are there no sims with tyre punctures?

We're still a long way from full Simulation.

Would be a big plus for any sim that gets it right.

Grand Prix 3 included suspension failure, loose wheel, puncture, engine/transmission failure, oil/water leaks, throttle/brake/electrical problems. IndyCar Racing 2 had quite a few different mechanical failures. I'm sure there are other examples.

I'd imagine it's not a high priority for a lot of sims due to a focus on online racing, and possibly also an issue for sims with licensed content where real manufacturers may not want to have their brands associated with random mechanical failures. I'm only guessing though - would love to see AMS2 add more functionality in this regard because it fits really well with the focus on historical racing, historical weather, customisable AI, extensive offline championship modes, the planned career mode, etc.
