Exiting race in VR sends me back to SteamVR home

I'm not sure if this is the norm, but to load up a race in VR using my quest, I get myself to Steam VR Home, then on the desktop I start AC, it pops up a message about VR desktop and loads into the game menu in VR so I can set everything up there. However after the race I select "EXIT" on the in car menu, and instead of returning me to the main menu, it closes the game and sends me back to SteamVR Home. I then have to peek under my VR Headset and start AC again from the normal Steam Library. It never used to do this in Pancake mode. I tried content manager too, but that does the same. Is this normal, or am I just going about it in the wrong way?

TLDR, how do stop the game closing to the desktop after each race in VR?

AC.exe and the Content Manager are just launches for the actual game, so every time I finish a race in VR the VR goes back to SteamVR Home and my desktop shows Content Manager. I just then select new race and put my headset back.
