Fanatec Universal Hub on DD1/2

Anyone know if the Universal Hub will be compatible with the Direct Drive wheels? I am thinking of switching to a DD2 but don't want to give up my current rim.

Everything is compatible so that includes the hubs, but you will lose your current rim buttons and have to use the hub buttons of course, unless you find a way to get longer bolts through your current rim button box and keep the usb connection.

What wheel base are you switching from?

T300rs with the Ferrari 599 rim. Not too bothered about the buttons, I could unscrew the rim from the Thrustmaster button boxes and use the Fanatec ones instead I think.

Ah right, the 599XX Evo 30? That’s a 8:10 scale which means the bolt pattern is probably not standard. It has to have a standard 6 bolt 70mm pattern as used by real cars. Measure from the middle of one bolt to the opposite one to check, but if that’s the correct rim and it’s not to scale it maybe a smaller distance than 70mm and will not work.

Ah ok, by my measurements top to bottom is 60mm but the others are all 55mm apart. I guess the 8:10 also applies to the bolt pattern too. So 70mm is the usual generic size?

Yes, the Fanatec hub uses the standard that Momo, OMP and Sparco and other makers use for real car rims, either a 70mm 6 bolt pattern or a 3 Bolt pattern for smaller rims like Fanatec’s own Round 1 that I had at the same time I got my hub, I now use a OMP Alu S 320mm rim as shown in my photos in post #3338 here: https://www.racedepartment.com/threads/show-your-cockpit.19/page-167
